Religious monuments of Athens, a new tour

A new tour was planned by MONUMENTA for the students and not only those who participate in the Program "The child, the city and the monuments" of the Technopolis of the Municipality of Athens. Athens, a multicultural city in all its historical periods, maintains temples of various religions that were built in Byzantine, post-Byzantine and more recent times. The tour is a journey into the architecture of the buildings, into the relationship between architectural form and worship, into historical events that took place in them, into the communities that created them. During the two-hour guided tour, we visit the synagogues on Melidoni Street, the Armenian Church on Kriezis Street, the Tzistaraki Mosque, the Metropolis, the Anglican Church of Agios Andreas in Philellinon, the Evangelical Church in Amalias, and the Catholic Church of Agios Dionysios on Panepistimiou street. Recording the buildings is an integral part of the tour.
The first tours for this school year took place with students and teachers of the 56th Athens High School and the 1st Experimental Athens High School.
