George Polycrates was born in Aperathos, Naxos in 1931. He studied sculpture at the School of Fine Arts under Professor Michael Tombros.
In 1962 George Polycrates moved in Italy in order to continue his studies in sculpture; at the same time he began studying painting, fresco and graphic arts. He now lives and works in Florence. He is a well respected and award-winning artist.
