Interview with the traditional potter Dimitris Lympertas in the village Damalas of Naxos on the procedure of the creation of a vessel, from the extraction of the earth to the firing of the vessels in the island, an art practiced by ceramists from Sifnos, as well as local craftsmen, the so-called tsoukalades (potters).

Short Biography
Dimitris Lympertas was born in 1926 in the island of Naxos. He was one of the last traditional potters of the island. He learned his art from his elder brother. He died in 2000 and his workshop was abandoned. However, his son, Manolis Lympertas, is now continuing his art.

The interview took place in October of 1998 in the workshop of the potter Dimitris Lynpertas, in the village Damalas.
