High Line Park - Interpreting the ruin
Dafni Papadopoulou,structural engineer In west Manhattan an old industrial railway is abandoned. Vegetation spreads over its elevated deck and time goes by until people can hardly recall its industrial past. On the contrary, its rusted and grassy landscape is vividly present in the memory of the local community. This is what the High Line Park is being nostalgic for. A dynamic intervention of reformation gave new dimensions.
