The World Water Day is at 22nd March. It was designated in 1993 in conformity with the recommendations of the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development contained in chapter 18 (Fresh Water Resources) of Agenda 21. The aim is that all states should set up activities informing and raising awareness of the public for the water. The 2008 World Water Day will concentrate on the issue of “Water and Sanitation”.
